Appointments with doctors and nurses

Contact our health care services if you need an urgent or routine doctor’s or nurse´s appointment. Your care begins at the point of your first contact with us. After we have made an assesment of your health situation, we will refer you to a doctor, a nurse or a physiotherapist according to your needs.  Each customer is assigned a multidisciplinary care team that assists you with matters related to your health.

How does it work?

Our health centres are open between 8 am and 4 pm from Monday to Friday. Please only seek urgent medical attention out of hours if it cannot be postponed without exacerbating your illness or injury. In an emergency, such as if you experience severe chest pain, sudden difficulty breathing, unconsciousness, paralysis or a seizure, always call 112.  

  1. Digital services

    If you are unsure what kind of treatment you need, how urgently you should seek care, or whether you can manage your symptoms yourself, use first Omaolo symptom checkers.

    You can use the OmaKeusote chat services. In the Illness or Health Concern (Sairaus tai terveyshuoli) chat, healthcare professionals will assist you on weekdays from 8 AM to 3 PM. The service requires strong authentication. The chat platform is in Finnish.

    In digital services, you can also, for example, manage your appointments and renew most prescriptions. The services are in Finnish.

  2. Telephone customer service

    On weekdays 8 am–4 pm:

    Call your care team. See the phone numbers on the page Contact with the care team.

    If you need urgent care on the same day, call the Helpline for urgent care 019 226 0505.

    If you have musculoskeletal symptoms, call the Physiotherapy’s helpline at 019 226 0205.

    We serve people with hearing impairments via text message at 045 490 4515.

    At other times:

    If you need urgent care when the health centers are closed, call the Medical Helpline 116 117.

  3. Urgent treatment on site

    Come on site without an appointment only if you have not been contacted via OmaKeusote chat services or by phone within a reasonable time and need immediate treatment.

    On weekdays 8 am–4 pm: Urgent reception without an appointment at the health stations in South Tuusula (Hyrylä), Hyvinkää, Järvenpää, Klaukkala, Mäntsälä and Nurmijärvi.

    At other times: Come to Keusoten Akuutti in Järvenpää JUST (Mon–Fri 3 pm–8 pm, Sat–Sun/weekends 8 am–8 pm) or to the emergency department of Hyvinkää Hospital (always open).

Canceling an Appointment

Check or cancel your booked appointment in OmaKeusote digital services (the platform is in Finnish. Or call the Helpline for urgent care 019 226 0505 and press 3 to leave callback request. After that listen to the recording until the end and then hang up, your number will be saved automatically.

If necessary, cancel your appointment no later than by 3 PM on the previous business day. It is enough to leave a callback request by the deadline. For unattended appointments, a fee according to the price list will be charged for those aged 18 and over.

Description

Call only for urgent matters when you need care on the same day. Through the phone service, you can also cancel your booked appointment. For other matters, please contact your care team.

The phone service is available on weekdays from 8 AM to 4 PM. At other times, if you need urgent care, contact the Emergency Helpline at 116117.

In life-threatening situations, such as severe chest pain, sudden breathing difficulties, unconsciousness, paralysis symptoms, or seizures, always call 112.

Description

Medical Helpline serves urgent cases in the evenings, at night, and on weekends/public holidays. The service is provided by HUS. You will receive guidance on the appropriate care location, urgency, or self-care.

On weekdays from 8 AM to 4 PM, call your health center: the Helpline for urgent care (019 226 0505) or your care team.

Calls are routed regionally. From border areas, they may be directed to another welfare region. In that case, call Uusimaa’s Medical Helpline 09 471 72328 (local rate).
