Advice and guidance for working-age people
Our advice and guidance service for working-age people answers questions related to, for example, the following:
- Independent living and coping
- Personal finances
- Housing (e.g. eviction threats or general life management)
- Homelessness
- Loneliness
- Long-term unemployment or frequent illness that prevents employment
- Dropping out of school
- Dependency on multiple different services with no clear solution in sight
We employ a team of professionals who can talk you through any issues you might be experiencing. We can give you advice and guidance on the phone, or refer you to the correct service provider. Our professionals are also trained to assess the urgency of your situation and ensure that you always get the help you need.
We also provide consultancy to other professionals.

How does it work?
When you have a question about yourself
- Explain your situation to the advisor.
- Listen to their instructions and act accordingly.
- If you need help urgently, call our social services emergency number or 112.
When you are concerned about someone else
- Try to talk to the person you are concerned about yourself first. If they are willing to listen to you and you are still worried, encourage them to contact our advice and guidance service for working-age people.
- Some people find it difficult to listen and take advice from others. If you cannot get through to the person you are concerned about and you are still worried, you can contact our advice and guidance service for working-age people yourself. You can also report your concerns anonymously. If you need help urgently, call our social services emergency number or 112.
Who is it for?
This service is primarily designed for people aged between 18 and 64 years who live or have a residence in Hyvinkää, Järvenpää, Nurmijärvi, Mäntsälä, Pornainen or Tuusula in the wellbeing services county of Central Uusimaa. You can also contact us about a loved one.
If you are between 18 and 64 years of age and you have children under the age of 18 years, you can also contact our advice and guidance service for families.
